- Food Allergy Testing (Skin Prick Testing for Food allergens) – Private Fee (please contact us for fee estimate). PLEASE NOTE WE ONLY TEST FOR ALLERGY AND NOT INTOLERANCE
- Patch testing (Contact Allergic dermatitis) – Private Fee (with rebate available, please contact us for fee estimate)
- Dietitian sessions (food allergies) – Bulk billed
- Immunotherapy/desensitisation – Private Fee (with rebate may be available, please contact us for fee estimate)
Please note we DO NOT perform oral challenges or intradermal testing for insect poison or drug allergies at our allergy clinic.
Aeroallergens panel (which includes dust mites, moulds, pollens, grasses, trees, fungi and animals) is available for a private fee (please contact us for fee estimate).

Allergy occurs when your immune system reacts to substances in the environment that are usually harmless to most individuals.
Those substances are called allergens and the reactions can vary from mild to life threatening (anaphylaxis).
When an exposure to an allergen has occurred, the antibody response system is triggered. Antibodies attach to specialized cells called mast cells. Those mast cells in turn release several substances including histamine. Histamine will cause swelling and inflammation and as such can cause great discomfort manifested through various symptoms.
Those symptoms may include itchy and runny nose eyes and throat (hay fever/allergic rhinitis), asthma exacerbation and breathing difficulties, colic and stomach upset, eczema, and hives.
HOW PREVALENT ARE ALLERGIES IN AUSTRALIA?
In general allergic conditions affect one in three Australians.
Allergic Rhinitis and Hay Fever - effects 15% - 20% of Australians
Food Allergy - effects up to 8% of children under the age of five and 2% of adults in Australia
Metal Allergies (contact & ingested) - effects and can cause an immune response in 10% - 15% of Australians
